Hands-on learning, in a flash

Make it in minutes. Put it everywhere.

Quizzes, flashcards and timelines your learners can get their hands on. Build one between classes, then drop it into your LMS, any web page, or a QR code on the wall.

Twenty-two kinds, each quick to make. A picture with hotspots, a crossword, a case where every choice leads somewhere. Every one works with a keyboard as well as a mouse.

Canvas · Moodle · Blackboard · Brightspace · any web page

Quiz · Multiple choice

A red blood cell is put in pure water. What happens to it?

Go on, try one. This is what a student sees.

What if

Picture your course with something to do on every page.

Before the lecture

What if the reading asked something back?

Mark the words and fill the gaps turn a passage into something students do.

This week's terms

What if the terms actually stuck?

Flashcards that bring back the ones you missed.

Three courses

What if one fix reached every course?

A Live link follows every Publish.

On the wall

What if a QR code started the lesson?

Every activity has one, ready for a slide.

What you already have

What if your H5P came with you?

An honest report before anything is made.

For you

What if you knew which wrong answer they all chose?

Insights shows every question's results, and the wrong answer given most.

The toolset

Twenty-two ways for students to get their hands on it.

Each one is small and quick to build. Use one on its own, or line several up as pages in an activity, with a cover at the start and a finish that shows the score.

One from each kind of task. Open the rest, or pick a kind.

  • QuizGradedA set of questions of any kind, one to a screen.
  • Drag and dropGradedPlace labels on a picture, or sort into groups.
  • Fill the gapsGradedType the missing words in a passage, with a tip for each gap.
  • FlashcardsCards that turn to show the meaning, then the ones you missed.
  • Interactive videoGradedQuestions and notes at points in a video, with captions.
  • Find on a pictureGradedClick the right place, or every right place, on an image.

One Quiz, eleven kinds of question. Multiple choice, true or false, short answer, numbers, fill the gaps, put in order, an essay, drag the words, mark the words, drag and drop, and find on a picture.

Feedback where it helps. Words for a right answer and a wrong one, for each option, and a picture, video or sound with any question. Shuffle the options, or give each attempt a random set of questions.

Marked on the server. The answers never reach the student’s browser before they check, so nobody finds them by looking at the page.

Learn words

One list of terms. Five ways to practise it.

Flashcards, matching, a memory game, a crossword and a word search all start from the same thing: a list of terms and what they mean.

Type the list and Taktyl does the fiddly part. It writes the crossword clues from your meanings and lays out the grid, hides the words in the search, and deals the memory cards, in words or pictures.

Suggest from notes

From your lecture notes to draft questions.

Paste your notes and Taktyl suggests questions or terms. Each suggestion quotes the line it came from, so checking it takes a glance.

You add them one at a time, never all at once, so nothing reaches students that you have not read. It runs on your organisation’s own AI key: your notes go only to the AI service you already chose.

Share

Build it once. Put it where students already are.

Share an activity as a link, an embed code, or a QR code on a slide. Or add it to a course in Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard or Brightspace, where students arrive signed in and their marks go to the gradebook.

A Live link follows every Publish, so one fix reaches every course at once. A Frozen link stays on one version, for the activity that must not change after students start. Outside the LMS, students sign in with a link sent to their email. There is no password to forget.

Insights

See how it went, question by question.

How far students got, the spread of scores, and every question’s results, with the wrong answer given most. That is the one that tells you what to teach again.

Look at one course or all of them, one version or every version. Where a person should judge the work, give a mark and feedback and release it. Download the lot as a spreadsheet.

Bring your H5P

The activities you have already built come with you.

Drop in your .h5p files, a whole folder at once. A question set becomes a quiz, and a course presentation or an interactive book becomes an activity of pages.

Before anything is made, Taktyl shows you what comes in full, what changes and what cannot come. Your original files are never changed. And each Taktyl type was checked against the H5P type it replaces, feature by feature.
